what is human trafficking?
SUPPORTING WOMAN FOUND AND FREED FROM SLAVERY
What is it?
Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery, where people are recruited and moved for the purpose of exploitation.
Who does it happen to?
Men, women and children, people of all ages and nationalities, especially vulnerable people desperate for a better life. The Global Slavery Index estimated that there were 40.3 million slaves around the world in 2018.
Where does it happen?
Everywhere. It happens on the other side of the world, but it could also be happening in your street. People are trafficked from and to the UK, including British citizens.
